AMAG Adds XceedID Readers

From AMAG Technology:

Torrance, CA, August 11, 2005 – AMAG Technology has added the XceedID reader line to its product offering. Customers can now purchase the XF1100, XF2100 and XF2110. XceedID provides the perfect reader choice for AMAG customers who may be thinking of upgrading to contactless smartcards in the future.

XceedID offers companies migrating from proximity cards to contactless smart cards a new technology. The new readers will read proximity and contactless smart cards simultaneously in the same reader. The technology also provides the ability to eliminate time consuming, error prone and cumbersome manual enrollment of new credentials into security system software and panels.

“AMAG customers now have another reader choice that provides a migration path to smartcard technology with minimal administrative effort,” said Vice President of Sales, Ken Francis.

The technology capability comes standard in the multi-technology readers. The automated upgrade feature is utilized when a company installs the readers for use with existing HID or proximity cards. After installing the readers, the customer may deploy newer secure contactless smart cards at any time in the future. A customer can use a mixed population of older HID proximity cards and new contactless cards simultaneously or migrate at their convenience. Alternatively, if the customer chooses to migrate to contactless smart cards and totally eliminate proximity cards, the implementation is simple.

"XceedID is committed to offering innovative multi-technology reader products through partnerships with world leading security manufacturers. AMAG is clearly one of the premier access control suppliers and we expect our combined products to deliver considerable value to AMAG's customer base," said John Menzel, president and CEO of XceedID.

AMAG is an InterTECH Security Supply Partner. Contact InterTECH to request more information on multi-technology access control systems.
